Another Pink Door Project! I'm so happy with how lovely this home has turned out. From the moment I first toured it (April 2024!), I knew it was special. The builder built his own house (next door) and built this one for his daughter in 1954. It has really wonderful original features that showcase his fine craftmanship. The warm wood kitchen with wood walls! I love the curved shelves. The bathroom with the burgandy and peachy-pink tile is in gorgeous condition. I found a lovely wallpaper to help bring a fresh look to the space.
We fixed and repaired a plethora of issues - and brought a modern touch to the space for today's functionality. New solid surface countertops and a backsplash with a hint of MCM flair. New appliances, sink/fixtures and flooring make the kitchen shine. We built a new shelf for the stove so there's a spot for cooking essentials.
With a newer roof, new A/C + water heater, garage door and all new electric outlets (they were 2-prong! and not a single outlet in the bathroom!), this room is ready for enjoyment.
The stunning burgundy marble tile around the fireplace inspired a fun abstract wallpaper accent. The dining room called for a deep, sexy paint color to give it depth.
All in all, a fine example of flipping a house mindful of the era, the special vintage features and lots of love.
